6 PERISH IN SEGE ACCIDENT

Six persons died on the spot yesterday when a Mercedes Sprinter bus burst its tyre and somersaulted several times at Sege on the Tema-Aflao road.
Many other passengers sustained various degrees of injury in the accident that occurred about 1:30 p.m.
The Hohoe-bound bus, with registration number VR 5044-14, was travelling from Madina when the accident occurred.
Police account
The Ada District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Hlordzi Dodzi, who confirmed the tragedy to the Daily Graphic in a telephone interview, said the bodies which were yet to be identified had been deposited at the Ada District Hospital morgue.
He said the injured, who are also yet to be identified, were receiving treatment at the same hospital.
According to Mr Dodzi, the bus burst a tyre at Sege, resulting in it somersaulting and eventually landing on its side.
